Trunki BoostApak Car Seat Back Pack

Every now and again a product comes on the market that is so simple, yet so genius, that your immediate thought is, “Dammit, why didn’t I think of that?”
Trunki’s innovate BoostApak is one of those products – a backpack that doubles as a booster seat! I know, it sounds kind of weird and before you actually see the BoostApak with your own eyes, it’s a little bit hard to get your head around it. But it really works and is of the same high quality and standard as all of Trunki’s products.
Recently named the best travel product at the Junior Magazine Design Awards, the BoostApak is perfect for littlies always on the go. It is ideal for everything from family holidays abroad to weekends away at the grandparents or even just a backup booster seat for when you’re travelling with an extra child.
It’s so light and compact enough to be carried on a plane as hand luggage, plus, underneath the actual seat is an easy access pouch to fit all the bits and pieces your child may need.
It’s pretty much impossible to fault this product and everyone I showed it to was as taken with it as I me.
The BoostApak is suitable for children weighing between 15kg and 36kgs and meets all New Zealand safety standards.

New Angelcare AC1100 - Video, Movement & Sound Monitor

When it comes to baby monitors, ask parents which one they’d recommend and most will tell you that you simply can’t go wrong with an Angelcare.
And now there’s even more reason to invest in the Mac Daddy of baby monitors. Angelcare has just released a monitor that features everything you could possibly ask for (ok, maybe not a ‘go back to sleep’ function, but close).
Angelcare’s AC1100 Video, Movement and Sound Monitor features everything parents already love about their monitors – mostly the under mattress sensor pads which detect all of your baby’s movements and sounds an alarm if no movement is detected - but this time they’ve gone one step further and added in an amazing video component too.
The video is of an incredibly high quality and allows parents to check on their baby without going into the room. Plus, it has an infrared camera that means checking in at night is just as easy. Just be warned - watching your baby on the monitor is slightly addictive, but I’m sure the longer you have it, the more you’ll resist checking what your baby is up to every few minutes.
While the new nursery unit is something pretty special, so is the new parents unit. All settings can be set with the fantastic new LCD touch screen on the parents unit, which means peace of mind is literally right at your fingertips and if anything needs to be changed while your baby is sleeping, again there’s no reason to go into the room and cause any disturbance.
As if all that wasn’t enough, Angelcare have also introduced a new two-way communication system where the monitor can act like a walkie-talkie. If you’re lucky enough to be able to settle your baby with the sound of your voice, you can simply talk into the parents unit and settle baby without any unnecessary stimulation. Just mind for toddlers in the house who love walkie-talkies though!
One of my favourite features is the new rechargeable parents unit – no more changing out the batteries and having a near heart attack when the low battery signal sounds on the old monitors which initially sounds just like the movement alarm going off).
Overall this is without a doubt a brilliant monitor and well worth the investment. After all, you can’t put a price on peace of mind.
